Parmi celles-ci, certaines ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 caus\u00e9 des dommages probablement irr\u00e9versibles, comme la surp\u00eache, qui est la plus significative, l\u2019acidification des oc\u00e9ans, le d\u00e9clin des esp\u00e8ces, ainsi que d\u2019autres ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes mentionn\u00e9s dans ce qu&#8217;on appelle la \u201clitanie des calamit\u00e9s oc\u00e9aniques\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-zeever-primary-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Ces ajouts r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs de probl\u00e8mes sugg\u00e8rent que les pressions humaines pourraient conduire \u00e0 un effondrement imminent des oc\u00e9ans. Cependant, toutes les catastrophes ne devraient pas n\u00e9cessairement figurer sur cette liste, comme la prolif\u00e9ration des m\u00e9duses, par exemple. La r\u00e9currence de ces probl\u00e8mes dans la litt\u00e9rature et leur traitement par les m\u00e9dias contribuent \u00e0 donner une vision pessimiste de l&#8217;\u00e9tat global des oc\u00e9ans. Sa forme verte se rencontre dans les eaux tropicales dont la temp\u00e9rature varie entre 25 et 30 \u00b0C et o\u00f9 la salinit\u00e9 oscille entre 10 et 37 PSU, notamment en Asie du Sud-Est, dans la mer d\u2019Oman et r\u00e9cemment en Tanzanie. Ce dinoflagell\u00e9 est particulier car il vit en endosymbiose avec une micro-algue qui colonise son int\u00e9rieur, lui permettant de se nourrir par photosynth\u00e8se durant la journ\u00e9e ou lorsque la nourriture est rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-zeever-primary-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Ce mod\u00e8le conceptuel illustre les origines, les interactions et les impacts de sa floraison. Plusieurs \u00e9tudes sugg\u00e8rent que le m\u00e9lange des eaux en hiver pourrait jouer un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans l&#8217;activit\u00e9 biologique, entra\u00eenant l\u2019efflorescence de <em>Noctiluca scintillans<\/em>. En effet, l\u2019apport de nutriments provenant des profondeurs, lorsqu&#8217;ils sont m\u00e9lang\u00e9s aux couches sup\u00e9rieures par les remont\u00e9es hivernales, favorise la prolif\u00e9ration de diatom\u00e9es et de dinoflagell\u00e9s. <em>Noctiluca scintillans<\/em>, se nourrissant de ces proies, peut \u00e9galement conna\u00eetre une croissance rapide. De plus, certaines recherches indiquent un lien possible entre la prolif\u00e9ration de cette esp\u00e8ce et les nutriments issus des eaux us\u00e9es ou des ruissellements agricoles, bien que cette hypoth\u00e8se reste controvers\u00e9e et pourrait ne pas s&#8217;appliquer aux efflorescences marines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-zeever-primary-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Bien que <em>Noctiluca scintillans<\/em> ne produise pas de toxines, son app\u00e9tit vorace en fait un pr\u00e9dateur nuisible qui perturbe la cha\u00eene alimentaire. Cette esp\u00e8ce engloutit une grande quantit\u00e9 de phytoplanctons et d&#8217;\u0153ufs de cop\u00e9podes, entra\u00eenant une comp\u00e9tition pour la nourriture et l&#8217;espace avec d&#8217;autres pr\u00e9dateurs. De plus, la d\u00e9composition bact\u00e9rienne post-mortem consomme de l&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne et, en raison de sa composition, la d\u00e9gradation de son corps lib\u00e8re de l\u2019ammoniac, qui est toxique pour les poissons et autres organismes marins. Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne entra\u00eene des modifications de l&#8217;environnement et des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, avec des impacts n\u00e9gatifs sur la sant\u00e9 humaine et les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s environnantes. L&#8217;eutrophisation se caract\u00e9rise par une pr\u00e9sence anormalement \u00e9lev\u00e9e de nutriments, en particulier l&#8217;azote (N) et le phosphore (P). Ces &#8220;nutriments&#8221; peuvent favoriser la prolif\u00e9ration de petites algues microscopiques, qu&#8217;elles soient nuisibles ou non. Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements d&#8217;eutrophisation deviennent probl\u00e9matiques lorsque l&#8217;activit\u00e9 biologique et la d\u00e9composition des organismes morts entra\u00eenent une baisse de l&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne dissous dans l&#8217;eau, ou lorsque certaines esp\u00e8ces produisent des toxines n\u00e9fastes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-zeever-primary-color has-text-color has-small-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Le d\u00e9veloppement socio-\u00e9conomique et les activit\u00e9s humaines contribuent de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 l&#8217;eutrophisation des syst\u00e8mes aquatiques. Dans le monde entier, des zones urbaines, agricoles et industrielles sont cr\u00e9\u00e9es et \u00e9tendues chaque ann\u00e9e pour favoriser le d\u00e9veloppement socio-\u00e9conomique, ce qui augmente la quantit\u00e9 de nutriments ind\u00e9sirables, notamment en raison de l&#8217;utilisation intensive d&#8217;engrais agricoles. Par exemple, le delta de la rivi\u00e8re Pearl est la r\u00e9gion de Chine qui conna\u00eet le d\u00e9veloppement le plus rapide.
